From Uyuni to Partridge's Eye 5 stops 1 Uyuni Salt Flat Discover the Salar Visit the train cemetery, craft shops, Incahuasi Island and more. You will be picked up from your hotel and visit the train cemetery, the town of Colchani, the artisan shops, the salt processing plants, the Incahuasi Island and have a private lunch in the middle of the salt desert. You will continue your journey towards the southwest, passing through the Siloli Desert. You will sleep at the Hotel Tayka del Desierto, a community hotel with a private room, shower, heating and you will enjoy delicious local food. 2 Uyuni Salt Flat The beautiful Salar de Uyuni is the largest salt flat in the world. It is located in the Department of Potosí in the Southwest of Bolivia at 3,650 meters above sea level. About 40,000 years ago, the area was part of Lake Minchin, a giant prehistoric lake. 3 Train Cemetery Do you have your camera ready? The amazing train graveyard looks like a remote control. 4 Incahuasi Island You will enjoy the impressive landscape from the top of Incahuasi Island located in the middle of the salt flat. From this point you can enjoy an incredible 360º view of the Salar. 5 Uyuni Salt Flat Today you will also visit the Dakar Salt Monument and the Plaza de Banderas or Plaza de la Bandera (a salt platform near the Dakar Monument with flags planted by visitors from all over the world. DAY 2 Partridge Eye to Uyuni 6 stops 1 Eduardo Avaroa Andean Fauna National Reserve. visit the stone tree, the volcanic geysers, the red lagoon and the main nesting site of the pink flamingos. You will travel back to Uyuni along the way you will encounter herds of llamas, vicuñas, birds and much more. Arrival in Uyuni is scheduled around 6 pm and you will be dropped off at the location of your choice. 2 Arbol de Piedra Early this morning we will get ready to enter the Eduardo Avaroa National Reserve. You will visit the Stone Tree and with a little luck we will be able to spot vizcachas. 3 Sol de la Manana Geyser We will arrive at the Sol de Mañana Geysers at the most active time of the day and with the first ray of light. This is the highest point of the route. It can be very cold here. We will be able to walk among the steaming and noisy geysers, boiling clay pots where the red and gray mud boils like water. 4 Polques Hot Springs The desert and Salar de Chalviri offer a landscape that combines the white of the snow with the reddish brown of the desert and the blue of the water. 5 Laguna Verde We will continue our journey towards the 'Valley of the Ladies', a new impressive sight with rock formations with interesting shapes and colors. Then we will go to the beautiful Laguna Verde at the foot of the Licancabur volcano. 6 Laguna Colorada The next stop will be Laguna Colorada (red lagoon). This lagoon is the main nesting center for the three different species of flamingos. The color of the water is produced by the presence of algae and plankton activated by sunlight and wind.
