Description

Start your day with a 5:00 AM pick-up from your accommodation in San Pedro de Atacama. You will travel south by vehicle, passing through the picturesque villages of Toconao and Talabre. During the drive, you will enjoy a delicious breakfast. After approximately two hours, you will arrive at the base of the volcano at 4,600 m altitude, where the ascent will begin. Over the next 3 to 4 hours, you will climb up to the active crater, with a deep sulfur-emitting vent, while contemplating the impressive view of the Andes Mountains. If conditions permit, you will be able to continue for another 40 minutes to the summit of the volcano at 5,630 meters. The descent will take an hour and a half, and you will return to San Pedro de Atacama, where the tour will end around 4:00 PM. This tour includes pick up at the lodge, transportation, bilingual instructor, breakfast, walking ration, poles and helmet.

Lunch or lunch: Depending on the length and itinerary of the tour, there may be a stop for lunch, which usually consists of a picnic lunch with sandwiches, salads, and beverages. We ensure that all food options are fresh and appropriate for the context of the hike, considering the energy needs of the participants.
