Description

Day 1: Exploration of the Salar and More We begin our exciting adventure at 10:30 a.m. with a visit to the historic Uyuni Train Cemetery, where you will admire the first locomotives in Bolivia. Then, we will head to the charming town of Colchani, known for its traditional salt crafts. We will continue towards the vast Salar de Uyuni, an impressive white sea of salt, where we will visit the “Ojos del Salar” and a fascinating Salt Museum built entirely with this mineral. Additionally, we will explore the majestic Incahuasi Island, ascending to its summit to marvel at the giant cacti and rock formations that look like petrified coral. You will have time to take fun photos on the white surface of the salt flat. We will conclude the first day in the picturesque town of Puerto Chuvica, where we will spend the night in a cozy hostel built almost entirely of salt. Day 2: Altiplanic Lagoons and Unforgettable Landscapes On the second day, we will continue our tour of the Chiguana Desert, on the southern shore of the Salar de Uyuni, surrounded by imposing volcanoes, including the active Ollague, visible from a viewpoint. We will travel along rocky roads to the beautiful highland lagoons, home to three species of flamingos. You will be impressed by the lagoons along the way: Cañapa, where you will see pink flamingos; Hedionda, where you can observe them up close; and Chiarcota, where you will enjoy a wide variety of birds and fauna. Then, we will enter the Eduardo Avaroa National Reserve (REA) and visit the Siloli Desert, where the enigmatic Stone Tree stands out. We will make a stop at the “Puntas Negras” viewpoint of Laguna Colorada, where hundreds of pink flamingos are displayed in their natural habitat, while you admire the intense color of the lagoon. You will conclude this exciting day at the Laguna Colorada shelters, where you will spend the night in a basic shared family accommodation. Day 3: Geysers, Hot Springs and Enchanted Lagoons The last day of the tour starts at 5:00 a.m. We will visit the imposing Sol de Mañana Geyser, the highest point of the tour, located at almost 5,000 meters high. Here, among fumaroles and smoking craters full of boiling mud, you will live a unique experience. Then, we will head to the relaxing Polques Hot Springs to enjoy a rejuvenating thermal bath. We will continue towards the impressive Dalí Desert, where rocks emerge in the middle of the desert landscape. You will be able to admire the enigmatic Green and White Lagoons. To finish this unforgettable tour, we offer you two options: Option 1: Start and finish in Uyuni. Option 2: Starting in Uyuni and ending in Atacama, in this case you must pay additionally for a private transfer to San Pedro de Atacama.
